I never watch police/investigative dramas on TV, as I have no interest in fictional crime. There is enough of the real stuff in the world without tormenting yourself with dark fantasies. Similarly I avoid medical and other emergency dramas.

Humour

In a world where just about all lifestyle choices seem to be arbitrary, I find it helps to have a sense of humour. Many crises can be defused by laughing about them. If I think someone is being particularly pompous I am quite good at playing Devil's Advocate and making their position seem rediculous. This is just playfull teasing though. (I am very rarely vindictive.) I can play it SO straight that it often takes people some time to realise I'm toying with them. Poor confused pussy-cats!

I've been collecting jokes for ages. I even started putting them on the web, when I was teaching myself HTML. This has now grown into a website in it's own right, although I haven't bought a domain name for it yet. You can see it here.
